The Strategic Alliances Committee seeks to forge partnerships between MPI and its partners to financially support and enhance the programs the chapter offers. The committee is responsible for designing partnership policies and guidelines, soliciting partnerships with our valued planners and suppliers, and following up to ensure that the defined benefits of partnering with the chapter are met. The committee is responsible for overseeing special events and fundraising for our chapter.
Time commitment: 2-5 hours per week

Community Outreach
This year, the Community Outreach Team’s goal is to bring recognition to the Tubman Organization. Donations are collected during the monthly meetings will be given to the charity in May 2012. This team of volunteers also organizes volunteer opportunities with Tubman for our membership to participate in. Throughout the year, the Community Outreach Team will also solicit corporate donations both in-kind and monetary. The team participates in volunteer activities to enhance chapter and community awareness; raises money for and makes contributions to a specific charitable organization; volunteers to be a project “lead” or “co-lead” for a specific monthly project or drive. Learn more about this committee and its activities—and download a donation form.

June Event
A team of volunteers is put together within the committee to organize the June Event. This team of people will find the venue, organize, plan and manage the event and find sponsors. In past years the June event has been a golf tournament, an “Amazing Race” style event called the Great Race, and more recently “An Afternoon at the Races” held at Canterbury Park. This event is one of the largest revenue contributors to the chapter and help is greatly appreciated! Your involvement can be as little or as big as you want it to be, as long as you are committed and up for a creative challenge.

Scholarships
Responsible for updating the website with scholarship information, marketing the scholarship, collecting the scholarship application forms, organizing the selection process and committee, and designing the award certificate to be awarded during the May Gala.

Silent Auction
A team of volunteers is put together within the committee to organize the Silent Auction at our December Holiday Event. The role of this team is to solicit auction items, oversee the procurement of items before the event, execute a small online auction aspect, and to oversee the actual auction on-site day of and the collection of payment for the items. This event requires some time investment from September up to the day of the event. This event is another one of the largest financial contributors to our chapter. Make a donation!

Sponsorship & Advertising
Develop and maintain relationships with MPI MN sponsors; negotiate with vendors and select monthly meeting venues; solicit, track and fulfill the MPI MN sponsorship program (learn more about sponsorship opportunities). Sell advertising space for the MPI MN website; sell advertising space for the MPI MN newsletter; conduct marketing campaigns for sales initiatives for all of the above (learn more about advertising opportunities). Skills acquired through committee participation: sales and marketing.
