Leadership Development is strategic with initiatives that will foster leadership opportunities and professional development for the MPI Minnesota Chapter at large. Leadership Development will assist the chapter board of directors in identifying and developing chapter members to fill key leadership roles in the MPI Minnesota Chapter.
To assist volunteers with finding a good fit for their talents within the chapter. This committee works closely with the Membership Committee in the transition of “New Member” to “Engaged Member.” The focus is to promote and encourage members to volunteer.
Mentoring is a personal and professional development strategy through which one person facilitates the intentional development of another. Mentoring is available to chapter members at any stage in their careers who are seeking to develop new skills or make progress toward professional goals. Mentors do not have to be from the same industry or profession to participate.
In order to produce a foundation of talent for the MPI Minnesota Chapter, this group assists the board of directors with identifying and developing the skills of chapter members who show great interest and potential in having a more challenging role within the chapter. The group also establishes a template for standard operating procedures and assists the board of directors with the creation of standard operating procedures for each committee.
This initiative is to continue the ongoing implementation and facilitation of the Leadership Practices Inventory (LPI) and partner with the Education Committee on the delivery of leadership development training throughout the chapter. Specific leadership training programs are offered to our general membership, chapter volunteers and chair positions, along with dedicated training for the board of directors.
