What’s a user account, and why should I create one on the MPI Minnesota Chapter website?

Your user account puts a lot of features at your fingertips. Here’s what any account holder can do:

  • Update your account username and/or password
  • Update the primary contact information used by the MPI Minnesota Chapter to get in touch with you, including name, designations/accreditations, job title, employer, phone number, email address, and mailing address
  • See your current membership status
  • Register for events without having to enter your contact information again
  • See a list of upcoming and past events for which you registered
  • Post job listings on our job board
  • See a list of current and past job listings you’ve posted
  • Edit your own job listings

Members can also:

  • Manage communication preferences (i.e. your MPI Minnesota Chapter email and mailing subscriptions)
  • See your upcoming membership renewal date
  • Post job listings on our job board for free
  • Upload a photo and/or company logo for use in the member directory
  • Control and customize the information displayed in your member directory listing, including phone number, email address, mailing address, and social media links.

It’s important to note that you are responsible for keeping your own contact information and directory listing up to date. Make a note to check your account and directory listing regularly and make any changes that are needed.

How do I change my username or password?

You can update your username and/or password at any time by logging in to your account and, from the My Information box, following the link to your account.

How do I update my contact information?

You can update the contact information used by us to communicate with you at any time by logging in to your account. In the My Information box, follow the link to your profile to update your contact information. Follow the link to your communication preferences to set your email and mail subscription preferences.

How do I add or update my photo or company logo?

If you are a member, you can manage your account photo or company logo at any time by logging in to your account and, from the My Information box, following the link to your account.

I forgot my account login information (username and/or password). What do I do?

If you have forgotten your username, try using your email address. If you’ve forgotten which email address you used with your account, please contact the office.

If you have forgotten your password, click the “Request new password” link in the login area. You will be prompted to enter your username or email address. Click “Email new password.” An email will be sent to you with instructions on how to set a new password.

Tips: Select a password that’s complicated enough to be secure but easy for you to remember. If you have trouble remembering your password, note it down in a secure location.

Event Registrations

How do I keep up with (and register for) MPI Minnesota Chapter events?

Upcoming events appear on the upcoming events page. You can stay informed about upcoming MPI Minnesota Chapter events by subscribing to the upcoming events page through the RSS reader of your choice. There’s also a past events page, so you can look back for information about events you attended in the past. (You’ll also find some third-party events of interest to MPI Minnesota Chapter members and allies.)

Event information pages display a list of who has registered for (or, afterward, attended) the event. See who else is coming and plan ahead of time to connect and network! (If you don’t want to appear on this list, there’s a “do not list” option on the registration form.) Event pages also display any current news items about the event.

Register for MPI Minnesota Chapter events through the event information pages. As you complete the online registration form, you will have two payment options: pay by credit card through our secure server or pay by mailing a check.

You don’t need an MPI Minnesota Chapter website account to register for MPI Minnesota Chapter events. But if you have one and log in before registering for an event, your event registration form will auto-populate with your contact information.

You can log in and visit your account dashboard at any time to see a list of events you’ve registered for, including your payment status.

How do I cancel or modify my event registration?

To cancel or modify your registration for any MPI Minnesota Chapter event, please contact the office.

Membership Applications and Renewals

How do I join MPI or renew my membership?

All memberships are renewed through the international office. You can find links to renew on our join/renew page.

When does my membership expire?

If you are a member, you can see when your membership expires at any time by logging in to your account. Your account dashboard includes a box with your membership type, join date, expiration date, and a link to renew your membership.

You will receive renewal reminders via email and mail—and on the website! When logged in to your account, you will see a renewal reminder on all website pages when your renewal date is close.

Member Directory

What gets included in the Member Directory?

The Member Directory is...

  • Private. Only current MPI Minnesota Chapter members can access the directory.
  • Searchable. Look for MPI Minnesota Chapter members by name, employer, city, and subunit.
  • Always up to date. The directory is updated as soon as any member makes a change to his or her listing.
  • Customizable. You have control over (and responsibility for) your own listing.

Only current members are listed in the directory.

Your initial/default directory listing includes the following information provided through your membership application (through MPI):

  • First and last name
  • Designations/accreditations
  • Job title
  • Employer/organization
  • Phone number
  • Email address
  • Business category(s)

...unless:

  • You chose “Exclude from directory” through MPI (then only your name will be listed in the MPI Minnesota Chapter directories by default).
  • You chose “Exclude email from directory” through MPI (then your email address will not be listed in the MPI Minnesota Chapter directories by default).

Your listing can also include the following as provided by you through your MPI Minnesota Chapter website account:

  • Photo
  • Company logo
  • Social media links

Members, please note: Any changes you make to your MPI Minnesota Chapter Member Directory listing will NOT be made to your international member directory listing, and your MPI Minnesota Chapter settings may be overwritten with your international settings the next time we download a membership data report. Please be sure to update your international membership record through the international office.

How do I update my Member Directory listing?

If you are a member, you can update your Member Directory listing at any time by logging in to your account. In the My Information box, follow the link to your member listing preferences to set your member directory listing preferences.

Your Member Directory listing preference options include:

Choose “None” or “Hide my…” to leave your information unlisted.

Choose “Show my primary…” to display the information managed through your profile.

Choose “Show my… as entered here” to enter information to be used for the member directory only. (not an option for social media)

To add or update a photo or company logo for your listing, follow the link to your account.

I updated my contact information, but my Member Directory listing hasn’t changed. What’s going on?

To give members better control over what information is made available to fellow members, we have separated some components of your directory listing from your general contact information. You can provide one set of contact information for receiving communications from us and provide an entirely different set of contact information for publication in the directory—including what information is or is not listed.

See the “what gets included” section for a list of default directory listing content as as provided through the international office and/or updated through your local profile. To add to or customize your directory listing, you must update your member listing preferences. To add or update a photo or company logo, update your account.

If you have updated your profile contact information and your directory listing hasn’t changed, you may need to review and update your member listing preferences.

Member Marketplace

What is the Member Marketplace?

The Member Marketplace is a “yellow pages” directory of goods and services provided by MPI Minnesota Chapter member companies. It is intended to help connect individuals and businesses looking for services with MPI Minnesota Chapter members who can provide them.

The Marketplace is...

  • Public.
  • Searchable. Look for listings by business category or company name.
  • Always up to date. The Marketplace is updated as soon as any member makes a change to his or her listing.
  • Customizable. You have control over (and responsibility for) your own listing.

Only current MPI Minnesota Chapter members who have elected to be included are listed in the Marketplace.

If you are a current member of the MPI Minnesota Chapter, you may log in to your account and, from the My Information box, follow the link to your Marketplace listing preferences to:

  • See what information can be included in your Marketplace listing.
  • Add, edit, or remove your Marketplace listing.

Please note:

  • Your primary contact record can and will be updated by the information you provide on your membership renewal form or any event registration form. I updated my contact information, but my Marketplace listing hasn’t changed. What’s going on?

The Member Marketplace relies in part on the information and preferences you have provided for your Member Directory listing. If you have updated your profile contact information and your Marketplace listing hasn’t changed, you may need to review and update your member listing preferences in addition to your Marketplace listing preferences.

MPI Minnesota Chapter Emails

I’m not receiving MPI Minnesota Chapter emails. What’s going on?

No email delivery system is perfect. In today’s world of multiple email browsers and culture of firewalls and sp*m filters, it is increasingly difficult to guarantee that every member of our association is receiving the emails we send. Here are some steps you can take to improve the chances of you receiving our broadcast emails in the future:

  1. Verify your membership status. Our broadcast emails are only sent to current members and prospective members. Log in to your account and check your membership status. If you are not currently a member, you can be added to our prospective member list by requesting more information, or you can complete an application to become a member.
  2. Verify the email address you have provided. Log in to your account and check the primary email address listed in your profile.
  3. Check your subscription settings. You may have told us that you won’t want to receive some or all of our broadcast emails. Log in to your account and check your communication preferences.
  4. Add us to your safe sender list.(Doing so will help ensure that our messages will not be blocked as spam.)
    • Add tech@mpimn.org and office@mpimn.org to your safe sender list. (If you’re using a company/corporate email account, you may need the help of your company IT department. If you’re using a personal email account, you can ask your Internet Service Provider for help.)
    • Ask your company/corporate Network Administrator to add these IP address ranges to its safe sender list.
  5. Change the email address you use to receive our emails. Use a personal webmail account such as Google Mail, Yahoo, AOL, Juno, NetZero, etc. instead of a company/corporate email account. Log in to your account and change the primary email address listed in your profile. (You should also then double-check your member listing preferencesto update which email address is displayed in your member directory listing.)
    • Reminder: If you change your email address, please also change your email address preferences with MPI International, as these preferences will override MPI Minnesota Chapter preferences when reconciled at the beginning of each week.

If you have taken all of these steps and are still not receiving our broadcast emails, please contact the office for further troubleshooting.
