Happy almost-Spring MPI Minnesota!
As hardy Minnesotans we have nearly made it through another winter season. I hope iConnect filled you with inspiration and innovative ideas for you to drive your meetings to make a difference.
We have a lot more education to look forward to in the coming months. This month we will unpack the alphabet soup that is our industry lexicon. What's the difference between a CVB, a DMC and an NSO and how can they help planners? Members from those entities will detail how they each work to make planning more efficient and effective.
Lastly, our chapter has been working very hard to put together a fantastic Global Meetings Industry Day. Held on April 6 from 11:30am-4pm at the Minneapolis Convention Center, our chapter is leading the effort to bring together seven other local industry associations to participate collectively. The topic will be on the economic ramifications of the Super Bowl coming to Minneapolis in 2018. It will be relevant education directly from those who are making it happen in our backyard. You will be also hear how you may get involved in this world-class event.
I would like to extend congratulations and a warm welcome to our most recently named Board of Directors. They will begin serving on July 1st but will be preparing for their roles in the coming months. As I finish the last few months as your President I couldn't be prouder of the next generation of members that will be serving our chapter. The future is ours to create.
