The MPI MN Chapter has no shortage of incredible individuals volunteering their time to serve as mentors to their MPI peers. From CVB and hotel executives to meeting planner leaders and entrepreneurs, MPI MN is lucky to have nearly a dozen experienced mentors ready to share their experience and help mentees achieve their professional and personal goals. Nevertheless, our mentor team is underutilized; many available mentors are awaiting a mentee match in a process driven by mentee initiation.

If you are interested in leveraging the expertise of our mentors, make sure to visit the Mentor Program page on the MPI MN website. From there, you can read the bios of the available mentors and learn about their leadership positions within MPI, affiliation with other organizations, career path, industry expertise, professional strengths, and key personality traits. This is a great time to think about where you are in your career and what skills you’d like to develop. Perhaps you’d like to get more involved in MPI. Perhaps you’d like to learn a new technological skill or would like some assistance navigating your career path. You have the opportunity to identify a mentor with the skillset and personality to best guide you on this journey.

The last step to solidify your mentor match is to fill out the Mentee Worksheet and email it to Mentor Committee Chair, Susan Bormann or Mentor Committee Vice Chair,  Kari Tomlinson who will connect you and your mentor via email. It doesn’t matter what stage you are at in your career, there’s always an opportunity to learn and grow.  Connecting with one of our accomplished mentors is an excellent way to do so, especially for students and new members.
